The Teacher
Verónica Coronel.
Verónica is an actress, theatre maker, and acting teacher. She trained for three years in the Fundamentals of Scenic Arts in Venezuela, and has spent the past seven years working as a teacher and director.
She has worked with students at every level of experience, from complete beginners to working actors, and has directed and staged her own theatre productions. She has also acted across theatre, television, and film, including Así es la Química.
She founded Monnarc to give adults in Amsterdam a serious place to begin.
The Technique
Inspired by the work of Stella Adler.
Our training is inspired by the work of Stella Adler. It focuses on the given circumstances of a scene, the imagination of the actor, the actions they play, and the truth that follows from those things being in place.
We teach in plain language, not jargon. From the first day, students work on their feet.
Who Monnarc serves
Adults who want to train in English.
Monnarc is for adults who want a proper first training in acting, in English. Most of our students are complete beginners. Everyone is welcome, from any background or profession, whether you live in Amsterdam or travel in for class.
How we work
Small groups. Serious craft. A safe room.
Groups are kept small so that every student gets direct guidance. The atmosphere is serious about craft, and generous with people, especially first timers.
What we ask is that you come ready to work.
